I did a room portrait, my side is the messy side.
You should all draw your rooms too!
Did some hand studies a while ago to destress and help me lose my fear of drawing straight onto paper with no plan.
So about 2 weeks ago, I got in a car with Lauren and Ian and drove two states up to Maryland for SPX. It was an amazing weekend, I got to meet a lot of folk who I’d been wanting to meet for a long time, and met some artists who have inspired me for years. There was such a wealth of talented people both exhibiting and wandering around, it really inspired me to make the most of my art and helped me remember why it is I want to pursue a future in drawing.
tl.dr: I made new friends, got drunk: I drew on them and they drew on me.
This post features mostly inebriated art from: Jones, Eric Kubli, Hannah Lee Stockdale, Meredith Gran, J Smith, Nick Smith, Anthony Clark, Madeleine Flores, Steve Wolfhard, Georgia Webber and Flynn Nicholls.
SPX is this weekend and I’m going to be there!
I don’t have a table but in true last minute style I whipped up a little zine that I will be selling for $2 or swapping! It’s small and blue and Classics-y, you’ll love it.
So yeah, I’ll be wandering around, going to panels and such, I look like this. Come and say hi!
Brit abroad.
A comic about newly learned sandcastle building techniques.
Marlo Meekins asked people to draw their first memories, so I drew mine. A lot of my very early memories are centered on the way things felt and looked rather than what was happening around me.
Another doodle of airport folk.
A sketch of the departure lounge at LaGuardia airport, NY.
I’m flying to the US tomorrow! This comic is a day late, but I wanted to post something on my thoughts about moving before I left. (click to make big)
I really want to make travelogues like this one throughout my time in America, both as a way of recording my time there and as a way of exploring interesting things I find. I might even make a separate tumblr for them, who knows?
A summery self portrait.
Now I’m going to go back to watching the closing ceremony and being unreasonably patriotic.
Sup dudes?! My computer broke but now it’s fixed!
I saw this kid the other day, she gave me a new goal for my fashion: coordinate an entire outfit around a specific animal.
Some sketches I did of places around the apartment I stayed in on my holiday, Italy is great when you’re drawing as people rush up to see what you’re doing and get excited.
With my plane tickets booked and just over a month to go, the US has been on my mind a lot lately.
Willow and Tara: the best lesbian witch TV couple of all time.
